本日は大阪大学の担当講義に、株式会社日建設計 サステナブルデザイングループ ダイレクターの梅村先生をゲストスピーカーとしてお招きし、
「いま、設計者に求められること ― データセンターの場合 ―」
と題した特別講演を行っていただきました。
講演では、データセンター（DC）を題材として、設計ニーズが生まれる社会的・技術的背景から、計画・設計プロセス、さらには具体的な設計ソリューションに至るまで、実務に基づいた体系的なご紹介がありました。
現在、建築分野の中でも特にビジネス的な注目度が高く、ニーズと技術進化のスピードが著しいDCプロジェクトについて、その全体像とともに、「設計という業務の位置づけ」や実務の実態、設計者としての取り組みについて、分かりやすく解説していただきました。
また、阪大環境工学科OBとしてのご経験に基づくコメントも随所に盛り込まれ、学生にとって多くの示唆を得られる貴重な機会となりました。

Today, we invited Mr. Umemura, Director of the Sustainable Design Group at Nikken Sekkei Ltd., as a guest speaker for a university lecture, where he delivered a special talk entitled:
“What Is Expected of Designers Today — The Case of Data Centers.”
Using data centers (DCs) as a case study, the lecture covered a wide range of topics, from the social and technical background behind emerging design requirements to planning and design processes, as well as concrete design solutions based on professional practice.
Data center projects are currently among the most business-critical areas in the architectural field, characterized by rapidly growing demand and fast technological evolution. Mr. Umemura clearly explained the overall framework of such projects, along with the role, responsibilities, and real-world challenges of architectural design practice.
In addition, insights shared from his perspective as an alumnus of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Osaka University provided valuable inspiration for the students.
