7月に入り、研究も少しずつ形になってきた頃だと思います。今回は、「自分の頭で考え、自分の言葉で説明すること」についてお話ししたいと思います。
AIの発展によって、研究の進め方は大きく変わりました。リサーチギャップを見つけたり、文章や図表、スライドを作成したりと、AIは研究を支える強力なパートナーになっています。
一方で、最近気になることがあります。AIが作成した文章や図表を、著者自身が十分に説明できない場面です。「この変数は何を意味しますか」「なぜこの結論になるのですか」と尋ねられて答えられなければ、その研究はまだ自分のものになっているとは言えません。
論文や発表の著者はAIではなく、自分自身です。
AIはぜひ積極的に活用してください。ただし、AIが作成した内容をそのまま使うのではなく、「本当に理解しているか」「自分の言葉で説明できるか」を、最後に必ず確認してください。
このゼミが、AIを上手に活用しながら、自分の頭で考え、自分の言葉で伝えられる研究者・技術者へと成長する場になることを期待しています。
As we enter July, your research projects are gradually taking shape. Today, I would like to share a simple but important message: think with your own mind and explain your work in your own words.
The rapid development of AI has changed the way we conduct research. It can help identify research gaps, draft text, and create figures and presentation slides. AI has become a powerful partner in research.
At the same time, I have noticed something worth reflecting on. Sometimes, authors cannot adequately explain the AI-generated text or figures included in their own work. If you cannot answer questions such as, “What does this variable represent?” or “Why does this result lead to this conclusion?”, then the research has not yet truly become your own.
Remember that the author of a paper or presentation is you, not AI.
Please make full use of AI. However, before submitting a paper or giving a presentation, always ask yourself:
“Do I really understand this?”
“Can I explain it in my own words?”
I hope this seminar will help you become a researcher or engineer who not only uses AI effectively, but also thinks independently and communicates with confidence in your own words.
