学術論文は、一般に IMRAD(Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion) に基づいて構成されます。
(Problem)
(Research Question)
(Method)
(Results)
(Significance)
(Future Work)
※Abstract
1. Introduction
2. Literature Review
3. Proposed Method
4. Results
5. Discussion
6. Conclusion

Structure of an Academic Paper
Academic papers generally follow the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion). In our laboratory, we recommend the following structure.
Reading high-quality journal papers and analyzing how each section is organized is essential for developing writing skills.
■ Title, Abstract, and Keywords
These are the most important elements for discoverability after publication. Poorly designed metadata significantly reduces the visibility of your work.
An abstract should clearly include:
- Problem
- Research question
- Method
- Results
- Significance
- Future work
Note: Abstracts typically do not include citations.
1. Introduction
Present the research background and clearly identify the research gap. Then define the research question and objectives.
2. Literature Review
Provide a critical review of existing studies and clarify the novelty and contribution of your work.
3. Proposed Method
Describe your method with an emphasis on generality. Avoid unnecessary dependence on specific cases or software tools.
4. Results
Validate the proposed method through experiments. Ensure repeatability and clearly describe all conditions.
Quantitative evaluation is preferred, supplemented by qualitative analysis when necessary.
5. Discussion
Discuss key findings and clarify the strengths and limitations of the proposed method.
6. Conclusion
Summarize the contributions of the study and its significance in the field.
