Awazu Lab. has a range of research areas about laser tissue interactions for laser surgery and medicine, optical properties of biological tissues, and laser analysis as typified by a laser ionization mass spectrometry.

We conduct wide-range research on laser and light-based diagnosis and therapy and biomedical optics, from laboratory to translational research, to promote the biomedical and industrial applications of novel medical and optical technologies.
