Abstract: Regarding some of infrastructures, their record units of deterioration condition by inspections (inspection data units) and their decision making units of an inspection and a repair (inspection and repair units) are different. In this paper, a stochastic process model is proposed in order to evaluate deterioration condition in the inspection and repair unit based on information of multiple deterioration condition states obtained in inspection units. Specifically, the authors a) express deterioration processes of infrastructures in inspection data units by Markov chain model and b) formulate a stochastic process model which includes an occurrence probability of state patterns in an inspection and repair unit. By utilizing the proposed stochastic process model, a relative evaluation of deterioration of infrastructures among inspection and repair units can be conducted without omission of information in inspection data units. Lastly, the effectiveness of the proposed method can be discussed through the case study targeting RC slabs of an actual expressway utilizing inspection data and the authors indicate that the proposed method enables to the relative evaluation.
