共同研究でお世話になっている本州四国連絡高速道路株式会社（JB本四高速）の皆様のご厚意により、研究室メンバーで明石海峡大橋を見学する貴重な機会をいただきました。
当日は、本州四国連絡橋の概要や最近の取り組みについてご説明いただいた後、安全装備を着用し、明石海峡大橋を見学させていただきました。
明石海峡大橋は、橋長3,911 mを誇る世界最大級の吊橋です。 日頃、ウェブサイトや写真、各種デジタルデータを通して目にする機会はありますが、実際に現地を訪れ、長大橋を間近に見ることで、その圧倒的なスケール感や構造、維持管理されている社会インフラとしての存在を直接感じることができました。
研究室メンバーにとって、普段の研究や講義だけでは得ることのできない、多くの学びと気づきを得る一日となりました。

With the kind support of Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway Company Limited (JB Honshi Expressway), with whom our laboratory is conducting collaborative research, our laboratory members had a valuable opportunity to visit the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
We first received an introduction to the Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Project and an overview of recent initiatives. After putting on the required safety equipment, we were given the opportunity to visit and observe the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge firsthand.
While we often encounter large-scale infrastructure through websites, photographs, and various forms of digital data in our research and education, seeing the bridge up close provided a very different perspective. Experiencing its immense scale and structural presence firsthand offered insights that are difficult to gain from digital information alone.
It was a highly educational and inspiring experience for our laboratory members, providing many opportunities to learn beyond our usual research and classroom activities.
